Tools & Materials: Caulking Gun, Trowel, Latex Caulk, Joint Compound, Sand Paper,Primer, Touchup Paint, Paint Brush

Repairing small holes in the wall caused by nails or screws are easily fixed with a simple dab of caulk. Once the Caulking is loaded into the gun, gently apply pressure and dab the caulk over the damaged area. With a damp rag, wipe smooth the excess caulk. Allow an hour for the caulking to dry. Then cover up the repaired area with matching paint.

Larger dents in the drywall are just a bit more difficult. First you need a bucket of premixed joint compound. After cleaning free all debris from the damaged area, find a trowel or drywall knife and scoop up enough compound to fill the dent. Smooth out the compound until the dent if filled. Don’t worry about getting in perfectly smooth, for once it dries (4-5 hrs) you will sand it flush and smooth to the wall. After the compound has dried apply a coat of primer over the repaired area. Once the primer has dried you can put on the finishing coat of touchup paint.
